Put personal safety first
If a child, vulnerable person or anyone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. For an ordinary lockout, wait in a safe place and explain whether the issue concerns a home, business or vehicle. State the exact address or parking location, rather than only naming The Woodlands or a nearby landmark.
Explain what led to the lockout
Keys left inside, a missing key and hardware that suddenly stopped operating are different situations. Say whether another authorized entry or a working spare is available. Do not force a reluctant lock or attempt a makeshift entry that could injure you or damage the property. The method and suitability of entry work depend on the opening and circumstances.
Have an authorized person available
